The top is made with 100% cotton, while the bottom is medical-grade polyester that is 100% waterproof. These materials do not block negative ions and far-infrared.

    The cover is an excellent addition to my mat. My dog likes to be with me while I relax using my mat, as do my cats, and the cover protects the mat. It also makes lying on the stones very comfy. I can’t tell that any heat or benefits are lost by using it. I would definitely buy one if I purchased another mat.
